He became the proud owner of a special item…a cocktail shaker once used by the Godfather of cocktails and author of The Gentleman’s Companion, Charles H. Baker Jr. Cocktails were flowing! And once the shaker was permanently mounted in it’s new home, a hand-made art deco box, everyone cheered!! St. John may have shed a tear and I got to mingle around a packed room snapping the below photo set. ENJOY! (You may read fuller coverage online at the Wall Street Journal.) [...]

I’m so glad I was able to make it up to the Upper East Side yesterday just in time to check out Lynch’s solo art exhibition. As expected, I was completely and pleasantly disturbed by his artwork. He created small, medium and large scale pieces, used various forms of media (including electricity!) with some truly bizaare content. I left Tilton with the same feeling I had when I recently re-watched Blue Velvet, and a little spooked-out by the [...]

It was a super special day for Christopher Torres, the creator of Nyan Cat! Today, people from all over the world celebrated Nyan Cat’s 1st Birthday by tuning into a live video stream at 21st Street Games, in Manhattan. The audio picks up around 2 minutes, so skip ahead if you’d like, but there is lots of eye candy to be seen. Also, enjoy these photos of the party by Blush!

Bringing her click n’ flash everywhere she went, her images become recognisable against the rest. That style—which prompted the Stranger’s Megan Seling to comment in an interview with Kristen, “All your photos not only make people look sexy, but the subjects also look happy and confident–it’s unreal”—has become Blush’s trademark. This trademark, and Kristen’s unyielding passion has carried her into fascinating situations. “It’s difficult to narrow down a singular highlight in my [...]

I began freelancing as a teenager when I took on photo assignments for the Port Orchard Independent Newspaper, in my hometown. I shot High School sports, cultural events, and the concert that started it all…Endfest 2000! It was when I was 2-feet away from Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day, snapping rolls of film, that I realized what I wanted to do with my life. It was far too glamorous and exciting to ever give up. But what I didn’t know, was that being a photographer was going [...]

There were tens of local firemen and fire trucks blocking Van Brunt Street traffic today. While I approached, I saw the thick smoke, firemen and many local people gathering around to watch. It is important to explore my new city, so I take the tourist route as often as possible! From a photographer’s point-of-view, the Brooklyn Bridge is my favorite place to view the surrounding architecture of New York and Brooklyn, the sparkling river and many travelers snapping their own photos. The breeze is so refreshing from up there, too! You may either start in Downtown Brooklyn and walk toward Manhattan, or the other way around from Chinatown.
