Kristen Blush

I’ve been snapping photos for a really long time. For over a decade in Seattle, which seems like a long time, anyway. I graduated from the Art Institute in 2002. My work has evolved greatly over the years.
Before I left Seattle for New York City in 2010, I worked for the Stranger Newspaper. I had a nightlife/lifestyle type online column. I would publish interviews and candid photos of Seattle celebrities, including the Mayor. I love that kind of work. I was also staff photographer for Sound Magazine, Neumos Music Venue and Key Arena, and did a vast variety of freelance work for groups such as; Gibson Guitar Brand, T Mobile, GQ Magazine, Experience Music Project an Sci-Fi Museum, Seattle Magazine.
I’m most proud of the opportunity I had to teach a bunch of teenage girls how to take “rock n’ roll” type photos at the Experience Music Project in 2010, in Seattle. I have a lot of compassion for teenage girls…I remember what that was like…always with my film SLR camera and towered ten feet over all the other kids.
I left all of these rad victories behind on the West Coast. Of course, these experiences will stay with me forever, shaping my current and future creative paths. I am greatly looking forward to all of the new projects, new creative people, new adventures, new bike routes, new everything in New York.
Thank you!
